In fact, according to Advisory Board, an increase in employee engagement has a direct correlation with increased patient safety grades. Additionally, they found that engaged employees are three times more likely than their disengaged counterparts to earn top performance marks.
Just over one-fifth of employees in the healthcare industry voluntarily or involuntarily left their positions in 2017.
There’s a perfect storm brewing in the healthcare industry. And if leaders don’t prepare now, it will wreak havoc on employee engagement. With increasing complexity in the healthcare system, new regulations, and challenging payment models, everyone, every day, is facing some level of change.
